Once again the local auction house down the road is hosting an ‘abandoned vehicles’ auction this morning. And once again I find myself looking at the couple of offerings and asking the question ‘Exactly who would buy that thing?’..
So what kind of abandoned vehicles?
The last time they did one of these, the Subaru Forester that was slowly rotting away in my street made an appearance after being parked for months and going nowhere fast.
This time around you can buy an abandoned Range Rover!*
*Well, some of a Range Rover..
(Some of the VINs are available and that’s just about it.)
MAKE: RANGE ROVER MODEL: UNKNOWN TYPE: WAGON COLOUR: BURNT VIN: N/A MAKE: UNKNOWN MODEL: UNKNOWN TYPE: WAGON COLOUR: BURNT VIN: N/A MAKE: NISSAN MODEL: PULSAR TYPE: SEDAN COLOUR: BURNT VIN: JN1BCAN15A0542221 MAKE: HOLDEN MODEL: COMMODORE TYPE: UTILITY COLOUR: RED VIN: 6G1YK42F63L952327 (Inspection 9am – 11am Morning of Auction) (Location: Pimpama, QLD)
However if a Ford Laser is more your speed, there’s one of those too*
*Sadly in roughly the same condition as the Range Rover..
MAKE: FORD MODEL: LASER TYPE: SEDAN COLOUR: BURNT VIN: N/A MAKE: PROTON MODEL: UNKNOWN TYPE: SEDAN COLOUR: BURNT VIN: PL1BT2LNR7G025238 MAKE: HOLDEN MODEL: COMMODORE TYPE: SEDAN COLOUR: BURNT VIN: 6G1EK55B17L928749 (Inspection 9am – 11am Morning of Auction) (Location: Pimpama, QLD)
If you do know who buys these things and what they do with them, please let me know with a comment. I’m fascinated by the fact that you can buy a rusted wreck with absolutely nothing worthwhile remaining in it.
Thankfully the fire sale ends there as there’s plenty of other abandoned rigs on offer. Not great offerings honestly put perhaps perfect paddock bashers:
Obviously an unfinished 180sx project. 95% unfinished at best guess 😀
Although there’s some possible potential left with this Corolla Wagon…
The webmaster for the auction house is having great fun doing this I bet..
But still, the question remains: WHO IS BUYING THE BURNT CARS?? Anyone know?
