In Japan is was a Toyota Corsa and Toyota Corolla II (82-99), in Thailand and Indonesia is was the Toyota Soluna and in other parts it’s a Toyota Tercel.
(Also see Toyota Sprinter Carib, Toyota Corolla Tercel – a few names over this Toyota’s five generations. Wikipedia doesn’t say anything about Tercel’s in Australia but you can find them in the Gumtree wild if you look hard enough. ie:)
The thing is, the model that ended up in Indonesia was campaigned as The Asian Family car with it’s 1.5 litre four cylinder good for 74 killer wasps. Sadly without any engine shots in any of the ads, I can’t tell you what you’re going to get with this one – an actual Toyota Soluna engine or a very Toyota like Mazda Rotary. But at least the Taz like Orange and Black attack continues inside!
